BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – Another suspect has been taken into custody after a shootout near a Brevard County store left a 1-year-old injured last month, according to the sheriff’s office.

In a release on Tuesday, deputies said that the suspect — identified as Lynnard Woods, 19 — was tracked down at a house in Canaveral Groves thanks to agents with the sheriff’s office’s “GAMEOVER” Task Force.

Investigators said that agents ordered Woods to exit the home, and he complied.

“Now, you would expect a tough guy that goes around shooting up parking lots would be a little tougher, but Woods saw who came to get him and very wisely gave up!” the release reads. “Yep, just like that, he walked out the door and gave himself up.”

Now, Woods faces charges of aggravated child abuse, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, assault with intent to commit a felony, discharging a firearm in public, and open carrying a weapon. He is held on no bond.

The whole incident kicked off on May 13, which is when deputies said that three people pulled up to Cocoa Meat & Produce on Burnett Road and ended up in a shootout with a 17-year-old.

At the time, the teen was walking with a woman and her 1-year-old child, the latter of whom was shot in the leg while in a stroller, according to court records. The child is expected to be OK.

The sheriff’s office said its deputies have responded to some kind of incident more than 70 times at the store in the last year, including three shootings.
