BEAUFORT, S.C. () — School choice applications have officially opened for Beaufort County School District (BCSD) students.

The applications are on the district’s website and must be submitted online by Friday, April 11, 2025, at 5 p.m.

The district said that families who don’t have internet access can request application assistance at any district school.

There are also expanded options for rising 9th grade students this year through BSCD Tides.

Choice schools serve children who live in their attendance zones in addition to students from outside the zone who apply to attend, the district said.

Beaufort County students in choice programs don’t have to pay extra tuition, but they are responsible for transportation if they live outside of school attendance zones.

The district said a lottery will be held if the number of applications would cause a school to exceed its overall enrollment capacity, or if approved applications would push a choice program over capacity.

You can find applications and more information on the BCSD website by clicking here.
