April Crackdown: Champaign Co. Sheriff’s Office Targets Distracted Drivers with Enhanced Enforcement

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — To mark Distracted Driving Awareness Month, the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office is collaborating with various agencies throughout April to bolster enforcement efforts.

In a coordinated effort, the Sheriff’s Office has joined forces with the Illinois Department of Transportation, the Illinois State Police, and other local law enforcement bodies across the state. This initiative aims to ramp up patrols, targeting drivers engaged in texting, browsing social media, watching videos, and other forms of distracted driving.
