AIKEN COUNTY, S.C. () – An arrest has been made after a shooting at the Palisades at Langley Pond apartment complex in Aiken County.

According to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, deputies have charged 38-year-old Daruis Porter with Aggravated Breach of Peace. He is currently being held at the Aiken County Detention Center.

Authorities said the shooting stemmed from a domestic violence situation early Wednesday morning.

An incident report stated Porter is accused of banging on the front door of an ex-girlfriend residence. When deputies arrived in an attempt to detain Porter, he allegedly did not comply and “fired a gun in an attempt to harm deputies.” Deputies returned fire as Porter fled. Officers were then able to apprehend Porter near Jefferson Davis Highway without further incident.

No one was injured in the shooting.
