AIKEN, S.C. () – Two people have been arrested in connection to an armed robbery that took place Sunday at an Aiken Dollar General, according to the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.
Police state that deputies responded to 2822 Edgefield Highway on April 20, shortly before 7 p.m. for a reported armed robbery and stolen vehicle call. Upon arrival, the victim reported being robbed at gunpoint and said that the suspects stole his vehicle.
“A deputy was able to locate the stolen vehicle from the robbery and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to stop, at which time a vehicle pursuit began. The pursuit ended in the area of Mt. Calvary Rd and both suspects fled on foot,” a statement released from the sheriff’s office on Wednesday reads.
Officials deployed a drone and bloodhound tracking team to locate and arrest Eric Woodam. Robert McCall Jr. was arrested the following morning.
Both Woodham and McCall are charged with Armed Robbery, Possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and Grand Larceny. They are currently being held at the Aiken County Detention Center.
