GATE CITY, Va. (WJHL) — A woman was arrested Friday in Gate City after a traffic stop led police to find a variety of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
According to a social media post by the Gate City Police Department, Kalyn Adams, 27, was arrested following a traffic stop due to a reckless driver complaint. The post said police observed the vehicle Adams was operating swerving on Nena Drive.
Upon contact, police observed Adams with slurred speech and watery eyes, and she reportedly admitted to smoking marijuana, according to the post. The police department said Adams was then placed under arrest for driving under the influence.

Once Adams was placed under arrest, the police department said a search of her vehicle yielded approximately 112 grams of meth, approximately 50 Xanax pills, Suboxone and Klonopin tablets, as well as smoking devices, hypodermic needles, scales and baggies.
The post said Adams was also found to have a suspended license from Tennesse, and she was charged with the following :
- Possession with intent to distribute (Meth)
- Possession with intent to distribute (Xanax)
- Possession of schedule 1 or 2 narcotics (x4)
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- DUI
- Refusal of chemical analysis
- No valid operator’s license
