AUGUSTA, Ga. – The Augusta 911 Center has been honored with the prestigious “2025 Communications Center of the Year Award” at the Georgia Emergency Communications Conference held in Athens, Georgia.
As announced by city officials on Friday, February 27, Augusta’s 911 Center was distinguished from agencies across the state for its exemplary emergency response coordination, adherence to professional standards, and effective collaboration with public safety partners.
“This accolade is a testament to the hard work our team puts in every day,” stated Daniel R. Dunlap, director of Augusta’s 911 services. “Our communications officers are often the first line of support during some of the most challenging times in individuals’ lives. They offer reassurance, guidance, and essential coordination until help arrives. I am immensely proud of the commitment and resilience they demonstrate in serving the Augusta community. This award is a tribute to every member of our team.”
