Augusta man arrested for allegedly raping teen after buying shots

AUGUSTA, Ga. () – An Augusta man is behind bars for allegedly raping a teenager.

Reports from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office say 32-year-old Sang Wook (David) Han met his victim at Sole in downtown Augusta, March 22nd.

Han allegedly bought the 17-year-old and her friends shots. The victim took 3 shots before her and Han went to dance.

The victim told deputies she began to feel wobbly and nauseous; Han then offered to take her back to her dorm on Spellman Street.

He allegedly took her to Sage Apartments on Marks Church Road, off Wrightsboro Road; where he had moved in 3 weeks prior.

Han reportedly carried the victim to his apartment, and undressed, and raped her.

The victim’s friends were able to find her through a tracking app and picked her up from Han’s apartment.

Han is charged with Rape and remains in the Richmond County Jail.
