AUGUSTA, Ga. – Authorities in Augusta have arrested a mother and her partner after discovering her children living in deplorable conditions.
The incident unfolded on February 23rd at the Onyx Apartments located on Wrightsboro Road.
Mackenzie Whitfield and Anthony Clark, both aged 24, are accused of subjecting three children to “unbearable living conditions,” according to reports.
The children reportedly suffered from infections and raw skin around their genitals, attributed to prolonged exposure to soiled diapers. One report mentioned that a girl’s diaper was so neglected it had adhered to her skin.
Deputies on the scene described finding both live and dead insects within the home, alongside spoiled food, dirty baby bottles, and feces-filled diapers strewn across the floor.
Both Whitfield and Clark are charged with 3 counts of Felony 2nd Degree Cruelty to Children.
They remain in the Richmond County Jail.
