AUGUSTA, Ga. – In a significant legal development, two men from Augusta have been sentenced to prison after admitting to federal firearms offenses.
Jafere Deshon Elliott and Korbynn Jevon Jackson, both 23 years old, have confessed to charges of Illegal Importation of Firearms or Ammunition and Illegal Possession of a Machine Gun.
The court has sentenced each of them to 48 months of incarceration, alongside a financial penalty of $2,000. Following their prison terms, they will also undergo three years of supervised release.
Authorities revealed that Elliott and Jackson were involved in the importation of 13 Machinegun Conversion Devices (MCDs) from China.
Customs and Border Protection Officers intercepted a package containing these devices before it reached its intended destination at an Augusta apartment. Mere weeks prior, another suspicious package bound for the same address was seized at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.
