AUGUSTA, Ga. – A local initiative is making strides to strengthen the connection between Downtown Augusta and North Augusta.
On Friday, February 20, Augusta Tomorrow introduced its ambitious 2035 Vision Plan. This strategic blueprint aims to celebrate and foster the distinctiveness and development of both sides of the Savannah River.
“Our goal is to draw people downtown and provide compelling reasons for them to linger, not just for events like concerts or dinners,” explained Lauren Dallas, executive director of Augusta Tomorrow. “We want them to come early, take in the scenery, and appreciate our vibrant local art scene. We have so much to offer here, and it’s essential that we create additional attractions for people to enjoy.”
Currently, the focus is on implementing a parking management plan that encompasses key areas such as the Augusta Common, Jones Alley, and the Woodland Trail in North Augusta.
