Augusta University Athlete Arrested in Connection with Alleged Theft Incident

Lauren Marie Posa, a student-athlete at Augusta University, faces serious legal troubles following her recent arrest. She was taken into custody at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center on charges of felony theft.

Posa is known for her involvement with the university’s volleyball team, where she has been an active player.

AUGUSTA, Ga. () – Augusta University Student Athlete Lauren Marie Posa was recently booked into Charles B. Webster Detention Center and charged with Felony Theft.

Posa is a member of the AU Volleyball team.

According to the warrant in the case, Posa is alleged to have taken a gold necklace valued at nearly $3,000 from its owner on Saturday, October 25th, at 1 p.m. while at Augusta University’s Christenberry Fieldhouse at 3109 Wrightsboro Road on the Forest Hills Campus.

The warrant against Posa was filed Tuesday, February 3rd, 2026, at 10:05 a.m. She reportedly turned herself in to AU Police.

Augusta University released the following statement:

“Augusta University is aware of the recent arrest of a former student-athlete. We are fully cooperating with the Augusta University Police Department and the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office as they conduct their investigation.”
