AUGUSTA, Ga. () – Augusta University recognized Constitution Day on Wednesday with its annual celebration on campus.

AU’s Libraries, Department of Communication and Department of Social Sciences partnered to host the event commemorating the signing of the United States Constitution 238 years ago, on Sept. 17.

Volunteers gathered to read the U.S. Constitution, and informational tables provided information about voter registration.

The event, which was open to the public, was held in the Dr. Roscoe Williams Ballroom in the Jaguar Student Activities Center on the Summerville Campus.

All educational institutions that receive federal funding are required to have an educational program about the U.S. Constitution annually.
