AUGUSTA, Ga. ()- Now that all the schools have begun in the CSRA, colleges and universities are up next. Augusta University students start classes today.

Now for some they have been on or around campus all summer.

For others it’s a whole new world as they look to begin freshman year.

Newschannel Six spoke with one student who explains why he chose to attend A-U.

“I went to many other campuses when selecting my college. And the reason I one of the reasons I picked AU is because of how beautiful the campus was. We’re really great in the biology fields. Anything medical related, because we have the Medical College of Georgia right down there, the fourth biggest in the nation, and the connection between staff, faculty and students is just something you don’t have it a lot of other colleges, it’s just really great and I love it here,” said USGA President, John Blalock.

Another student said she is excited to graduate this year.

“Personally, I’m very excited to be applying to residency and officially become a doctor and graduate this year. I am a little bit sad that it’s my last year ago, so especially after seven years, but I really appreciate how much this school has helped me grow as a person and just shape me these past seven years,” said Puja Punukollu, gradate SGA President.

The fall semester will run through December 1st.
