AUGUSTA, Ga. ()- Augusta University’s ‘Christenberry Fieldhouse’ has undergone a significant transformation.
The university’s president is eager to unveil the newly revamped Sports Performance Center along with the refreshed exterior of the building.
The ‘Alvin and Yvette Sports Performance Center’ recently had its ribbon-cutting ceremony, introducing a versatile, state-of-the-art weight room.
Today’s celebration focuses on the fieldhouse’s exterior makeover, which now boasts sleek metal paneling in the school’s signature colors.
Additionally, visitors will notice the new digital signage prominently displayed at the main entrance.
The athletic director says these big changes are a big help for AU athletics.
“We’re excited about what this allows us to do on the recruiting standpoint and obviously be able to retain our students as well. But this space is really turned into one that that I think is one of the best in the Southeast. I think it’s going to help us in a lot of areas and is certainly one that we’re proud to walk in every day and be able to use,” said Ryan Erlacher.
The tailgate is from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Christenberry Fieldhouse on AU’s Forest Hills Campus.
