AUGUSTA, Ga. () – The Colton Ballet Company of Augusta will be at the Imperial Theatre this Saturday showcasing their show called Float.

The ballet company is on their third day of rehearsals practicing 4 pieces making sure every movement is perfect.

There will be a total of 7 pieces with the Colton Ballet Company showcasing their own dances along with special guests from the Alabama Theatre and Georgia Theatre.

Caitlin Phibbs has dances her entire life including dancing at the Colton Ballet School growing up, she is now debuting pieces she choreographed including one called Float which will end the show.

Phibbs said, “It’s always really exciting and it’s such a privilege to be able to showcase our art and the talent of these dancers. I was talking with my staff earlier this week that it’s so sad we only get one opportunity to do this, hopefully in the future we’ll be able to do it again but it is really exciting and a privilege to be able to share art with the community.”

I spoke with Bre Brogan who has been dancing for 12 years and says she is most excited for the audience to see all of the different types of dances.

“The versatile pieces and all the diversity of it because we have classical, we have contemporary, we have some more modern pieces. It’s a very diverse show.” said Brogan.

Phibbs says she appreciates all of the hard work the dancers have put in and hopes the community loves the show as much as they do.

“They have worked so hard, and it’s been a long, pretty intense rehearsal process all while they have lives outside of their dance too. I hope they’re really excited and that the community is going to come out and support them.” Phibbs said.

You can find a link for the tickets to the show along with a pre-show party where you can meet Caitlin and more choreographers here.
