Suspect wanted for Armed Robbery at Augusta bank has been arrested

UPDATE, 7:57 P.M. – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of Anthony Dion Trotter, an Augusta resident, in connection with the recent armed robbery at Pinnacle Bank on Walton Way.

Law enforcement officials initiated a search across various hotels in Augusta to track down the suspect. While questioning staff at the Budgetel Inn and Suites on Fifth Street, investigators obtained reliable information indicating that the robbery suspect was residing in one of the hotel rooms.

Acting swiftly, authorities approached the specified room, where they found Trotter along with the attire reportedly worn during the heist. Trotter was apprehended without any complications.

Following his arrest, Trotter was taken to the Charles B. Webster Detention Center and faces charges of Felony Armed Robbery of a Bank.

Sheriff Gino Brantley commented, “This case illustrates how integrating modern technology and surveillance with traditional police work yields prompt and effective outcomes. The dedication displayed today, from the initial responders collecting pivotal information to the deputies who carried out the arrest, highlights the professionalism and dedication of our agency. AUGUSTA, Ga. () – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in connection to an armed robbery at an Augusta bank on Wednesday.

According to police, the pictured individual is wanted in connection to the reported incident that occurred at Pinnacle Bank, located at 1602 Walton Way, on Nov. 26.

The sheriff’s office is considering this individual to be armed and dangerous.
