JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A Johnson City man was arrested on Thursday for possessing 34 grams of fentanyl, according to Washington County, Tennessee, Sheriff Keith Sexton.
Sexton said deputies with the Washington County, Tennessee, Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle driving with unregistered tags in the South Roan Street area.
The driver, identified as Daniel Edward Barnett, 41, had 34 grams of fentanyl in his possession, according to Sexton. Barnett also had a glass pipe, straw and scales commonly used in the use and sale of narcotics.
Barnett was charged with Schedule II Drug Violations and Unlawful Drug Paraphernalia.
He was transported to the Washington County Detention Center and is being held on a $11,000 bond. Barnett will appear in court on June 26.
