Suspect in Deans Bridge Rd. traffic stop identified, police still searching

RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. — Authorities in Richmond County are on the hunt for a suspect following a traffic stop that escalated into a dangerous situation.

The man in question has been identified as Jerome Anthony Davis.

According to deputies, the incident occurred on the 5700 block of Deans Bridge Road near Magnolia, just south of Church Street. Davis was pulled over, but he quickly exited the vehicle, accidentally dropped a firearm, picked it back up, and then dashed into the nearby woods.

During the chaos, three gunshots rang out. It was later determined that these shots were fired by a local homeowner who reportedly witnessed Davis’s escape.

Davis now faces multiple charges, including Felony Fleeing/Attempting to Elude, Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer, and Failure to Signal.
