CHICAGO, Ill. (WCIA) — Former Illini All-American Ayo Dosunmu was on hand to see the next Morgan Park product commit to play at Illinois.

Ayo just finished his fourth season in the NBA with the Bulls, where he averaged 12.3 points per game, but it was announced he would be sidelined for the rest of the season to have shoulder surgery in March.

The Chicago product has enjoyed seeing the Illini continue to be a nationally relevant team after his days of donning the Orange and Blue ended.

“To see that actually pan out is great, now you’ve got people going to Illinois, it’s cool to go to Illinois,” Ayo said. “You’ve got people who want to commit to Illinois.” “You got high-level transfers coming to Illinois, and it’s just cool to see because that’s what I envisioned when I wanted to go there.” “Now, they’re in a great position, one of the best schools in the country.”
