(KTLA) – The new parent company of a well-known home goods retailer plans to open a new brick-and-mortar location this month, two years after the brand liquidated and closed hundreds of stores nationwide.
The grand opening of the first Bed Bath & Beyond Home store is set for Aug. 8 in Nashville, the Brand House Collective Inc., formerly Kirkland’s Inc., announced in a news release.
“We’re proud to reintroduce one of retail’s most iconic names with the launch of Bed Bath & Beyond Home, beautifully reimagined for how families gather at home today,” Amy Sullivan, the CEO of Brand House Collective, was quoted as saying in the press release. “This isn’t just a store, it’s a fresh start for a brand that means something special to so many families.”
After filing for Chapter 11 protection in 2023 and closing all physical locations, the brand’s name was initially purchased by Overstock.com. The brand relaunched as an online store and app, selling furniture, rugs and other household items.
Now, a brick-and-mortar location returns under the umbrella of the Brand House Collective Inc., which operates more than 300 stores across 35 states as well as e-commerce sites, according to the release.
“To celebrate our grand opening on August 8th, in honoring our brand’s history, we’re bringing back one of its most iconic traditions, the beloved Bed Bath & Beyond coupon,” the news release added.
Guests were encouraged to bring in their legacy Bed Bath & Beyond coupons, which the store will “gladly honor.”
The press release indicated that the Nashville location is the “first” Bed Bath & Beyond Home store that Brand House Collective will be opening. The company did not share plans for any other future locations, but a news release issued by Brand House Collective in Oct. 2024 (upon the acquisition of the Bed Bath & Beyond name for licensing and brick-and-mortar stores) suggested plans for “locations nationwide.”
“Having known the iconic Bed Bath & Beyond brand for years, we are thrilled to partner with [Beyond, INC. chairman Marcus Lemonis] and the entire Beyond team to bring the brick-and-mortar strategy back to life,” Sullivan said at the time.
