SAVANNAH, Ga. — Benedictine Military School is making a triumphant return to the GHSA Class AAAA State Championship, marking their first appearance since their victorious 2022 campaign.
The Cadets secured their spot in the championship game after a hard-fought 28-20 win over Marist in the semifinals, setting the stage for an exciting title showdown this Friday.
Back in 2022, Benedictine edged out Cedartown in a nail-biting 14-13 game to claim the state championship honor. This season, they are determined to add another championship ring to their collection, drawing strength from a roster brimming with Division I talent among the senior class.
Looking ahead, senior quarterback Steven Cannon and edge rusher LaDamion Guyton have committed to continuing their football careers at Texas Tech. Meanwhile, senior offensive lineman Carlton Hall has chosen to play at Liberty University, further highlighting the depth of talent within the team.

The team said everyone is focused on finishing the season strong.
“They’re excited, confident, and feel really good about who they are,” said Head Coach Danny Britt. “The confidence comes from the work and everything they’ve put in since last February.”
Cannon said, “We have to put everything out there to have a chance. A lot is on the line, and I think all of us understand that.”
Benedictine will take on Creekside in the GHSA Class AAAA State Championship on Monday, Dec. 15 at 7:00 p.m.
