In Johnson City, Tennessee, Bethel Christian Church of Jonesborough extended a warm gesture to the local homeless community by providing a substantial meal on Saturday. This act of kindness aimed to deliver not just nourishment but also a sense of community and compassion.
“We are here feeding the homeless today,” shared Angela Turner, an active member of the church. “Just to spread some love and some cheer and some joy.” Turner, alongside her closest friend, orchestrated the thoughtful event with the intent to make a positive impact.
The duo began by carefully planning a meal that was both hearty and easy to prepare, ensuring it would be comforting and familiar to those in need. The menu featured beef stew, chili, and cornbread, complemented by takeaway bags containing peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, chips, granola bars, and bottled water. This thoughtful touch ensured that recipients had sustenance for later in the day.
