SAVANNAH, Ga. — The Bethesda Academy Blazers are gearing up for their third consecutive appearance in the SCISA AA state championship game, scheduled for Saturday.

The team last clinched the state title in 2023, but faced a setback in the previous season when they were defeated by Pee Dee Academy with a score of 52-14.

This season brings a highly anticipated rematch against Pee Dee, offering the Blazers an opportunity to cap off an impeccable season with a 12-0 record.

Earlier in the season, the Blazers clashed with Pee Dee and emerged victorious with a commanding 49-0 triumph.

Head Coach Antwain Turner expresses confidence in his squad’s readiness to achieve an undefeated season and seize the championship.

“It’s not a revenge game for us,” said Turner. “It’s an opportunity for us to complete our goals, and one of our goals all year was to become state champions.”

Bethesda defensive lineman Isaiah Redmond said the whole team is locked in.

“The mindset is that we’re gonna come and dominate,” said Redmond. “Nothing’s gonna stop us from our goal.”

The state championship rematch against Pee Dee Academy will be on Saturday, Nov. 22 at noon.
