Seeding announced for Big Ten Baseball Tournament

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Despite a loss to finish the regular season, Illinois baseball is poised to take on the postseason starting with the Big Ten Tournament.

Illinois is the 11-seed in this year’s tournament and will face seven-seed Michigan and two-seed UCLA in the first round of pool play.

This year’s Big Ten Tournament is made up of four three-team pools, with the winners of each pool playing in a bracket-style series of games for the conference title.

The Illini will open play against the Wolverines on Tuesday, May 20 at 10 a.m., and then play the Bruins at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 21.

Illinois finished the regular season 29-23 overall and 14-16 in Big Ten Play.
