Blountville Resident Faces Charges for Alleged Sexual Exploitation of a Minor

BRISTOL, Tenn. — Authorities in Bristol, Tennessee, have apprehended a man on charges related to the sexual exploitation of a minor, according to local police reports.

The Bristol, Tennessee Police Department responded to a collaborative request for assistance from the Bristol, Virginia Police Department on Tuesday. The request involved investigating a potential child predator located at 700 State Street.

Police identified the suspect as 55-year-old James M. Kenison from Blountville, who is already registered as a sex offender. Officers engaged in a conversation with Kenison as part of their inquiry.

During their investigation, detectives uncovered materials classified as Child Sexual Abuse Material. As a result, Kenison faces a charge of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.

Following his arrest, Kenison was transported to the Sullivan County Jail.

According to the release, the investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are pending.
