SILVIS, Ill. () — A Bluffton resident picked up his second PGA Tour win of his career on Sunday at the John Deere Classic.
Brian Campbell’s victory came on the first playoff hole after Campbell and Emiliano Grillo both tied at 18 strokes under par after 72 holes. Campbell made par on the playoff hole to secure the win.
Campbell finished an impressive weekend strong in the final round. He carded six birdies along 11 pars. He registered rounds of 65, 66, 68 and 67 en route to the title.
The Bluffton resident only bogeyed twice in four rounds.
Campbell graduated from the University of Illinois, and said many of his college friends were able to come out and support throughout the weekend.
He came into this season without a single PGA victory. However, in February he won the Mexico Open in the first playoff hole. The John Deere Classic title marks both his second win of the year and second of his career.
