BLYTHE, Ga. — The proprietor of a personal care facility in Blythe is currently embroiled in legal troubles, facing charges of exploiting vulnerable adults.

The operation was a coordinated effort involving the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, Blythe City Police Department, Veterans Affairs, Georgia Department of Human Services Adult Protective Services (APS), and the Georgia Department of Community Health’s Personal Care Home Program.
This investigative action followed reports that state officials were obstructed from conducting inspections and allegations of financial exploitation were raised.
Mona Atar, the 42-year-old owner of the facility, has been arrested and charged with a felony count of Exploitation and Intimidation of Disabled Adults, Elder Persons, and Residents. She is currently detained at the Webster Detention Center.
