VIRGINIA (WJHL) — There is an active boil water advisory for Buchanan County, parts of Wise County and the Town of Jonesville in Lee County.
A waterline break Sunday has led Wise County leaders to issue a boil notice for some customers.
According to the Wise County PSA, the department experienced a waterline break on Bean Gap Road near Pound. Out of an abundance of caution, the boil water advisory was put into effect until further notice for those customers located along Bean Gap Road, (Lower) Birchfield Road, Cranes Nest Road and surrounding areas.
The Virginia Department of Health’s Office of Drinking Water and the Town of Jonesville has issued a boil water advisory for all water customers in Jonesville. The Lee County PSA said there is no update on when the advisory will be lifted.
A release from the PSAs said community members should boil any water for consumption until further notice.
Updates will be provided as they become available.
