WINTER GARDEN, Fla. – A new Boys & Girls Club in Winter Garden is creating more room for hundreds of children and teenagers to learn, build confidence and pursue their goals.
The 30,000-square-foot June Family Branch can serve more than 300 children and teens each day.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida has supported young people in Winter Garden for nearly three decades. As enrollment grew, however, the organization eventually needed a larger home.
The June Family Branch increases the club’s capacity by more than 400% while giving children and teenagers spaces designed specifically for their needs.
Inside, the facility features social-emotional learning rooms, art studios, technology areas, sound and music studios, and dance rooms. Young people can also take part in after-school and summer programs, connect with mentors and spend time in safe, supportive spaces.
“This is a space for them to learn how to dream and what to dream, and then help us to execute that,” said Jamie Merrill, president and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida.

Many of the club’s members qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, while others come from lower-income families or single-parent households.
Even with those obstacles, the organization reports a 100% graduation rate among its high school seniors.
For 12-year-old Logan Brunson, the club has been a place to strengthen his confidence and grow academically and athletically.
“The Boys and Girls Club is more than just a place to go after school,” Brunson said. “It is a place where great futures are started.”
The new facility is located at 459 9th Street.
