SAVANNAH, Ga. () – Brace for a significant drop in temperatures today, accompanied by persistent gusty winds. The day begins with morning highs in the 60s, but expect a gradual decline into the 50s by the afternoon, plummeting to freezing levels tonight.

The dominant weather feature is the strong winds trailing yesterday’s cold front. Expect gusts to peak at 35 mph during the day, with nighttime gusts reaching around 25 mph as the mercury dips below freezing. This combination will drive wind chills down to the teens by tomorrow morning, so ensure you dress warmly before stepping outside.

Winds will slightly subside tomorrow but anticipate another chilly, breezy day. While the sun will make an appearance, the high will only touch the upper 40s, with gusts up to 25 mph making it feel colder than the thermometer indicates.

Prepare for another freezing night from tomorrow into Tuesday, with temperatures dropping into the 20s and wind chills again sinking into the teens. By Tuesday, the winds will calm down, allowing temperatures to slightly rebound with highs reaching the low 50s.

As we move into midweek, a warming trend will bring more seasonable temperatures, with highs in the upper 60s expected on Wednesday. The mercury will continue to rise, reaching the low 70s by week’s end, just in time for slight rain chances to emerge as the weekend approaches.
