In Tampa, Florida, the weather has taken a chilly turn as colder air moves in following yesterday’s cold front. The morning brings a brisk breeze that will persist throughout the day, keeping temperatures struggling to climb beyond the upper 50s by afternoon. As the day progresses, the skies are expected to gradually clear, and while the wind may ease slightly, temperatures will swiftly drop.

Residents of Citrus and Hernando Counties are under a Freeze Watch, with temperatures predicted to dip to freezing or below for several hours tonight. Meanwhile, a Cold Weather Advisory has been issued for the entire area, highlighting wind chills that could range from 23 to 33 degrees on Wednesday morning.

New Year’s Eve will dawn with a distinctly cold beginning. Throughout the day, temperatures will remain brisk, reaching only into the upper 50s to near 60 degrees, although sunny skies will prevail. As the clock strikes midnight and the Tampa Bay area welcomes the new year, expect temperatures to hover in the mid-40s, accompanied by a cool northwesterly breeze. Thankfully, celebrations won’t be marred by fog or rain.

The weather will start to warm up on New Year’s Day, with highs anticipated in the upper 60s. This warming trend will continue into the weekend, bringing temperatures back to the low to mid-70s. However, another cold front is set to arrive on Saturday, bringing with it a slight chance of showers.
