Brach’s Debuts Candy Corn Fragrance for Halloween Nostalgia

Candy corn may be one of Halloween’s most debated sweets — but would your devotion go so far that you’d actually wear it as a fragrance?

Brach’s Candy is leaning into the seasonal obsession with a new perfume designed to capture the sugary scent of the classic orange, yellow and white Halloween candy.

Called Ode to Candy Corn, the eau de parfum blends sweet notes of vanilla, spun sugar and honey for a scent inspired by the nostalgic fall treat.

The limited-edition candy corn perfume will be available only through CandyCornSeason.com, with two scheduled drops on Sept. 22 and Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. Eastern. Each bottle is priced at $22.

The release nods to a candy with deep roots: candy corn dates back to the 1880s, when mellowcreme sweets were often shaped into farm-inspired designs and sold to children in agricultural communities.

The Goelitz Candy Company took the recipe in 1898 and marketed the treats under the name “Chicken Feed” because Americans didn’t really eat corn before World War I, when there were wheat shortages.

As trick-or-treating became more associated with Halloween in the 1950s, candy corn came to be synonymous with the holiday.

According to Brach’s, its candy corn is the No. 1 fall confection item, with 17% of its sales occurring before Labor Day, and more than half of sales happening before October.
