BRADENTON, Fla. (WFLA) — In a dramatic turn of events on New Year’s Day, authorities reported that a Bradenton resident successfully thwarted an attempted kidnapping targeting his wife.

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office has identified the suspect as Nicholas Palomo, a 36-year-old with a criminal history, including previous convictions for kidnapping. The incident occurred when Palomo allegedly tried to abduct a woman walking her dog near 18th Place East in Bradenton.
