HINESVILLE, Ga. () — The Bradwell Institute boys basketball team will make its fourth consecutive trip to the state tournament after 66-40 win over Evans in the quarterfinals for the Boys Region 1-AAAAA tournament on Feb. 12 at Bradwell Institute.

The game was never really in doubt. Bradwell lead 14-8 after the first quarter. They led by 16, 32-16, at the half. In the fourth quarter, they led by as many as 30 points, 60-30, before earning a trip to the region tournament semifinals.

Bradwell will play the Lakeside-Evans on Feb. 13 for a spot in the region championship. Lakeside-Evans is the No. 1 seed on the north side of the region.

Also in the region, Statesboro fell on the road to Greenbrier, 68-60. The Blue Devils led with under two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

After a flagrant foul was called on Statesboro, the head coach disagreed and received a technical foul. Greenbrier made four consecutive free throws and took a lead they would not relinquish.

Statesboro will not make the state playoffs this year.
