Police respond to shooting in U of I Campustown

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — Just after midnight on Saturday, the University of Illinois Police Department responded to reports of gunfire in the Campustown area.

Around 12:30 a.m., an Illini-Alert Emergency was issued, notifying the public of shots fired near 411 E Green Street and advising people to steer clear of the vicinity. Individuals unable to evacuate were instructed to secure their immediate surroundings.
