JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — The Jacksonville Police Department reported the arrest of a suspect involved in a tragic Valentine’s Day shooting that claimed the life of a 31-year-old.
Authorities have charged 23-year-old Marissa Teubner from Jacksonville with first-degree homicide and aggravated discharge of a firearm on Sunday, February 15. Her arrest led to her detention at the Morgan County Jail.
The investigation was a joint effort involving the Morgan County State’s Attorney’s Office, Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services, the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, and the Morgan County Coroner’s Office. JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — An investigation is underway by the Jacksonville Police Department following a fatal shooting that occurred on Saturday evening.
Officers responded to the 800 block of West Chambers around 5:45 p.m. for a report of shots fired. When officers arrived on scene, they found a female with a gunshot wound. Police said the victim was brought to Jacksonville Memorial Hospital with life threatening injuries.
The gunshot victim, identified by the Morgan County Coroner as 31-year-old Marcquila Harris of Jacksonville, was later pronounced dead. An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday.
