(NewsNation) — Ukraine and the United States have reached a preliminary agreement to end the ongoing four-year conflict with Russia, a U.S. official disclosed to NewsNation early Tuesday. While some specifics still need to be finalized, this represents a significant step toward peace.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected to travel to Washington, D.C., within the month to solidify the agreement, according to Ukrainian national security adviser Rustem Umerov. The exact timing of this visit will be determined based on mutual convenience.
“Our delegations have achieved a consensus on the fundamental aspects of the agreement during discussions held in Geneva,” Umerov shared via social media, offering a glimpse into the progress made.
