Blacksburg, VA — The Virginia Tech Hokies will not have long to lick their wounds following a season-opening loss to South Carolina on Sunday in Atlanta.

This weekend in Blacksburg, the Hokies welcome their second SEC opponent when the Vanderbilt Commodores come calling.
There should be no motivation needed to get the Hokies fired up since the Dores beat them last season in the “Music City,” but head coach Brent Pry says they must cut down on the turnovers.

“You know, got a big week. We need to double down on discipline and accountability, as well as execution and finishing catches, and make better decisions in certain areas. But I was proud of our effort, our mentality, our competitive level, which gave us a chance. Just made too many mistakes against a good team, says Pry.”

“First game of the year. First game in Lane Stadium. Every time we step into that stadium as motivation, you don’t really need motivation. Whenever you’re playing in front of all those fans. So just the guys, like we never lost motivation. So we’re ready to go, ready to like I said, we’re ready to practice today, ready to continue to get better throughout the week, and continue ready to so we can do it on Saturday, says Keller. “

Kickoff on Saturday at Lane Stadium will be at 7:30.
