In Bulloch County, Georgia, a deputy from the Sheriff’s Office sustained minor injuries following an incident during a roadside arrest.
The event occurred on Saturday night as the deputy was conducting a routine traffic stop on the bypass near Northside Drive. During this stop, a passing vehicle collided with the rear driver’s side door of the deputy’s patrol car.
The Bulloch County Sheriff’s Office reported that at the time of the collision, the deputy was positioned between the car door and an individual he had just taken into custody. Fortunately, the injuries sustained were minor.
In light of this incident, authorities are urging drivers to adhere to Georgia’s Move Over Law, which mandates that motorists change lanes away from any emergency vehicles parked on the roadside with flashing lights. If unable to switch lanes safely, drivers should reduce their speed to help prevent accidents.
