BURTON, S.C. () — The Burton Fire Department (BFD) has reported three blazes stemming from unattended yard debris and brush fires.

The first occurred on Bruce K Smalls Drive. According to a source from BFD, one unattended yard debris fire spread to a shed. Embers from the shed nearly set the roof of the house next door on fire. The BFD, Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort (MCAS) Fire Emergency Services, Beaufort County Sheriffs Office and Beaufort County EMS responded.
the second occurred on Kato Lane. An individual was reportedly burning outside and alleged that he threw boxes on the blaze, which spread the fire across two other properties threatening two homes.
There were brush fires all throughout Beaufort County today. No damage has been reported so far.
