BVPD: Condemned Home Search Leads to 4 Arrests

BRISTOL, Va. (WJHL) — Four people were arrested after a search warrant on a condemned house in Bristol, Virginia on Wednesday.

According to a news release from the Bristol, Virginia Police Department (BVPD), officers alongside the Washington County, Virginia Sheriff’s Office conducted a search warrant at a house in the 1000 block of Clark Street.

“The Clark Street residence had been previously involved in a structure fire and was officially placarded by the City of Bristol, declaring it ‘Unfit for Habitation’ under City Ordinance due to the sustained fire damage,” the BVPD said in the release.

During the search warrant, officers reportedly found methamphetamine, controlled substances, digital scales and clear plastic baggies.

The following people were arrested and taken to the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Abingdon:

  • Lauren Raye Lewis, 32, of Bristol, Virginia
    • Outstanding Washington County, Virginia capias
    • Felony possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute
    • Felony possession of controlled substance (two counts)
    • Bristol, Virginia City Ordinance; Misdemeanor unlawful to occupy or use once placarded
  • Van Lamar Crawford, 56, of Fort Myers, Florida
    • Felony possession of controlled substances
    • Bristol, Virginia City Ordinance; Misdemeanor unlawful to occupy or use once placarded
  • Danielle Nicole McNab, 30, of Bristol, Virginia
    • Misdemeanor common nuisance
    • Bristol, Virginia City Ordinance; Misdemeanor unlawful to occupy or use once placarded
  • Jason Allen Kraus, 43, of Watauga, Tennessee
    • Felony possession of controlled substances
    • Bristol, Virginia City Ordinance; Misdemeanor unlawful to occupy or use once placarded
