BVPD: Man arrested after sexual assault case reopened

In a concerted effort to curb crime in Bristol, Virginia, the local police department recently wrapped up a focused enforcement initiative that spanned two days and led to significant outcomes. The operation, which took place on October 15th and 16th, saw the collaboration of the Bristol, Virginia Police Department (BVPD) with the Virginia State Police (VSP), as well as the sheriff’s offices of Washington and Russell counties.

During this intensive operation, officers successfully apprehended 19 individuals and handed out 37 citations, marking a substantial impact on local criminal activity. According to the BVPD, the coordinated effort specifically aimed at identifying and deterring criminal behavior within the city, which also resulted in the confiscation of illegal drugs.
