SAVANNAH, Ga. — Calvary Day is on the brink of capturing its first-ever state championship in football.
The Cavaliers secured their spot in the finals by delivering a surprising victory against the top-seeded Fellowship Christian in the private school bracket. The decisive match ended with a score of 24-7 in favor of Calvary Day.
Throughout the playoffs, Calvary Day has demonstrated dominance, outscoring their competition by a staggering margin of 132 to 31.
Looking ahead, the state championship game is scheduled for Wednesday, December 17. This timing provides the Cavaliers with an additional five days to gear up for the formidable offense of Hebron Christian.
“They’re an outstanding team,” remarked Calvary Day’s head coach, Jason Cameron. “They have very few weaknesses. The extra days give us a chance to recover after the intense game against Fellowship Christian, allowing us to regroup and refocus for the championship challenge.”
The GHSA 3A-A Private state championship will kick off at 1 p.m.
