SAVANNAH, Ga. () — The Calvary Day girls’ basketball team sits alone atop the Region 3-AAA standings as the Lady Cavs look to win the regular season region title.

Calvary Day is sitting in excellent position with just a handful of games remaining. The Lady Cavs are 10-8 overall and a perfect 8-0 in the region.

The eighth-ranked team in Class AAA-A private owns the tiebreaker over the second and third place teams in standings, Liberty County and Jenkins, respectively. They will play Jenkins one more time on Feb. 4, but they feel the season going well.

“We just want it,” senior small forward Zora Geiger said. “We have five seniors on the team, so we’re trying to take that state championship and we just have been putting a lot of work in as a team and individually as well.”

The Lady Cavs will look to go to 9-0 in the region with a win over Long County on Friday, Jan. 31 at 6 p.m.
