DELAND, Fla. – A two-vehicle crash in DeLand has an intersection partially closed on Sunday after a broken fire hydrant caused the road to be damaged, city officials said.
According to a news release, a pickup truck with a lawn trailer and an SUV were involved in a crash at the intersection of Woodland Boulevard and Beresford Avenue around 9 a.m.
Officials said that a fire hydrant was damaged in the crash, which caused “significant damage to the roadway in the southbound lanes of the Woodland Boulevard-Beresford Avenue intersection, which remains closed until further notice.”

Officials said there is also a boil water notice for nearby businesses, but didn’t specify a precise area.
According to the release, DeLand officials are working with the Florida Department of Transportation, Volusia County and Duke Energy to get the intersection open as quickly as possible.
