WISE, Va. — A Castlewood resident has been apprehended and faces charges, including aggravated malicious wounding, after a shooting incident in Wise on Tuesday night, according to the Wise County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials reported that the shooting occurred around 8:09 p.m. on Tuesday in the 1000 block of Sykes Blvd. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his back.
“Deputies provided emergency medical assistance to the victim before rescue personnel arrived and transported him to a medical facility,” the sheriff’s office detailed in the report. It was noted that the suspect fled the scene in a white Nissan Rogue after shooting at the victim, who was in a white pickup truck.
