CAT to suspend services on Thanksgiving

SAVANNAH, Ga. () — Chatham Area Transit Authority (CAT) services will be impacted by the St. Patrick’s Day festivities starting on Saturday.

There will be a zero-fare service from 4:30 a.m.-10 p.m., for CAT’s Fixed-Route and Paratransit services from March 15 through March 17.

On Monday, March 17, CAT’s Fixed-Route service will run on a holiday schedule.

CAT Connect will be running normal operations. Paratransit will have normal routes, but the downtown service may be impacted on Monday.

The DOT Shuttle will shut down will cease operations on Monday 17, except the 7D-C, Cloverdale.

CAT wanted to remind riders that cash will not be accepted at the shuttle pickup or drop-off locations. They also said coolers or large objects are not allowed on CAT’s buses.

Here is the schedule for the Savannah Belles Ferry:

  • Running normal operations: 7 a.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Ferries will not service the City Hall Landing dock after 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 15 – Sunday, March 16
  • The ferries will only serve the Savannah Convention Center Landing and the Waving Girl Landing on Monday, March 17. There will be no City Hall Landing service on St. Patrick’s Day.

Here is the City of Savannah Shuttle schedule for Monday, March 17:

CAT will provide a $5 shuttle that will service the Savannah area on Monday, March 17. The shuttle will run from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. on a one-hour frequency from two shuttle locations below:

  • Walmart at Island Towne Center, 4725 US-80, Savannah, Ga 31410
    • Riders will be dropped off at Oglethorpe and East Broad
  • Walmart at Abercorn, 14030 Abercorn St., Savannah, Ga 31419
    • Riders will be dropped off at Oglethorpe and East Broad
