A mere month following her untimely passing, Catherine O’Hara was honored posthumously at the 32nd Actor Awards, celebrated for her remarkable role in “The Studio.”

O’Hara was awarded the title of best female actor in a comedy series during the ceremony, which was previously recognized as the Screen Actors Guild Awards. Her life was tragically cut short at 71 on January 30 due to a pulmonary embolism. In tribute to her legacy, the audience at the Shine Auditorium in Los Angeles rose to their feet, applauding her achievement as the winner was announced.

The accolade was accepted on O’Hara’s behalf by Seth Rogen, co-creator of “The Studio.” He fondly remembered her as an enthusiastic collaborator who would often send courteous emails suggesting script revisions the night before filming. Rogen highlighted O’Hara’s unique blend of brilliance and kindness, stating she “proved that you could be a genius while being gentle.”

Rogen urged those unfamiliar with her work to introduce others to iconic moments like her dance to Harry Belafonte in “Beetlejuice” or her comedic knee injury in “Best in Show,” where she hilariously limped around. He emphasized, “As they laugh, remind them that’s Catherine O’Hara, and we were truly fortunate to have lived in a world where she generously shared her gifts with us.”

Meanwhile, “The Studio” itself triumphed, taking home the award for best comedy series, with Rogen also being recognized as best actor in a comedy series. In the series, O’Hara portrayed the character of movie executive Patty Leigh.
