CATLIN, Ill. (WCIA) — A pickup truck was engulfed in flames late Friday night in Vermilion County.

At approximately 11:04 p.m. on Friday, the Catlin Fire Protection District was dispatched to the area of W Vermilion St. and Westwood Drive for a vehicle on fire. The 6E2 and 6SS4 crews both responded to the scene with a total of six members.

Upon 6E2’s arrival at 11:11 p.m., they found a heavily involved pickup truck on fire. All occupants were able to exit the vehicle prior to Catlin Fire’s arrival. Additionally, the fire was marked under control within two minutes of arrival.

Catlin Fire Protection District units remained on scene for approximately another hour to clean up the road. Carnaghi Towing & Repair removed the vehicle from the scene and the Village of Catlin salted the road after.

All units cleared the scene at 12:13 a.m. on Saturday. No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported during the incident.
